Q + A

If you have any questions that aren't listed, feel free to contact our wedding planner, Annie, at eventplanningbyannie@gmail.com.

What should I wear?

The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire. For women, pantsuits, an elegant jumpsuit, or cocktail dresses (of all lengths) are appropriate. For men, suits or suit separates (jacket optional). Whatever you choose, don't forget to bring a jacket for when the sun goes down, and kindly note that most of our event will be held on a grass lawn - so keep that in mind when it comes to your shoe choice.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

August in Lake Tahoe is historically sunny, with temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees while the sun is out. Ensure to wear sunscreen & drink lots of water, as the elevation in South Lake Tahoe is 6,237 feet. Note that a good portion of our event is outside on Valhalla's Grand Lawn; keep that in mind when thinking about your shoe choice! Lastly, bring a light jacket or sweater for when the sun goes down, although we'll be moving the party inside the Grand Hall at that time.

How do I get to your wedding venue?

We have organized a transportation service to take you from Tahoe Seasons Resort (where we have a room block organized) to Valhalla before and after our wedding. Kindly navigate to the Transportation tab to learn more.

If I'm not planning on taking the transportation service, what time should I arrive and where do I park?

Our ceremony is set for 4:00PM. If you plan on driving yourself, we recommend you arrive around 3:45PM. There are 70 parking spaces available on-site at Valhalla. Once you arrive, pull up to the green gate and the gate attendants will direct you. Please keep in mind that no vehicles can be left overnight in Valhalla's parking lot, but they can be kept outside the gate in a separate parking lot between Valhalla Rd. & Heritage Way.

What is the schedule for the day?

Our ceremony will start at 4:00PM on Valhalla's Grand Lawn, followed by cocktail hour from 4:30PM to 5:30PM. Dinner will also be on the Grand Lawn, followed by dessert and dancing inside the Grand Hall. Our event will end at 10:00PM.

What is the deadline to RSVP?

We kindly request that you RSVP by July 7, 2025. You can RSVP right here on our wedding website.

What should I do if I can't make it?

You'll be missed! We understand, but please let us know as soon as you do so that we may plan accordingly.

Are kids allowed?

Our wedding day will be an adult-only event. Although we adore your little ones, we kindly request to leave them at home and take the night off to celebrate with us! Should you need childcare options, here is a reputable resource to utilize in Lake Tahoe: https://laketahoesitters.com.

Are there any venue policies we need to be aware of?

Because Valhalla is located on a historical site in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Valhalla is a non-smoking venue. There is one smoking area available, in the front of the building over the cement pathway.
